As a volunteer-driven organization, TAPA heavily relies upon its volunteers to develop and implement the mission of the Academy. If you are interested in serving on any of the following committees, please email [email protected]. 

TAPA's Standing Committees

Government Affairs Committee Helps shape the legislative agenda of TAPA; advises TAPA’s lobbyist and executive director on pending legislation; develops relationships with local legislators; attends PA Day on the Hill, if possible. The majority of this committee work is done via email and conference calls.

CME Committee
 Assists TAPA’s CME coordinator in planning Spring Fling and FallFest; identifies conference topics and PA knowledge gaps; drafts learning objectives for conference topics; recommends expert speakers; assists with onsite conference logistics. (CME Committee members receive complimentary conference registration.) The majority of this committee work is done via email and face-to-face meetings at TAPA conferences.


Membership Committee
 Works with regional directors to plan and promote dinner meetings and other events; contacts PAs not currently members of TAPA to encourage membership and involvement.

Awards Committee Selects annual award program recipients by reviewing nominations and rating them on a judging matrix. The majority of this committee work is done via email.

Reimbursement Committee Advises TAPA staff and members regarding reimbursement questions and issues. The majority of this committee works is done via email or telephone.

Political Action Committee Assists TAPA staff in raising funds for the PAC; develops relationships with local legislators; attends legislative fundraisers, as necessary.
