TAPA PA Day on the Hill

Join fellow PAs and students as they come to Nashville to advocate on behalf of the PA profession! TAPA continues to push for modernizing and improving PA practice in Tennessee. We need all hands on deck to meet with legislators and help achieve these goals. So make arrangements to take the day off from your clinical practice and come to Nashville to make your voice heard.

Here is what to expect during TAPA's PA Day on the Hill:

  • Legislative Briefing - The day will begin with a legislative briefing. During the legislative briefing, TAPA's lobbyists will talk about what bills are being considered by the legislature, give attendees specific talking points to cover in their meetings, and answer questions. In years past, the legislative briefing has been held at the Nashville Downtown Library. Due to a fire last summer, the library remains closed. TAPA is working to secure an alternate location for the legislative briefing, and attendees will be notified as plans are finalized. 

  • Walk up to the Cordell Hull Building  - Located at 425 Rep. John Lewis Way N., Nashville, TN 37243. Following the legislative briefing, attendees will walk up to the Cordell Hull Building for their legislative appointments. 

  • Legislative Appointments - Appointments are typically scheduled between 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Attendees will receive their appointment schedule at the legislative briefing.

 Please note that all times are CENTRAL time

Dress: Be sure to wear your white coat! If you are a student without a white coat, then please wear professional dress. Wear comfortable shoes as there will be a lot of walking.

Appointments: Appointments typically last about 10 minutes. TAPA will make appointments for you to meet with legislators. Please do not contact legislative offices on your own to schedule appointments. Schedules will be passed out during the legislative briefing.
